The Kohat Cantonment:

       HISTORY:

The Kohat cantonment was annexed by the British in 1849 from the Sikhs, by the side of the rest of Punjab. And Army divisions made by the British headquarters. 
The battle allowed the Sikh Army, helped by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, to be defeated by the Afghan Army in 1823.


Railway Station:

The Raids on British Cantonments:

 And in 1923, when the house of Major Ellis was attacked, where his wife was killed and his daughter was carried off and  she was later recovered.


As we know,

In  November 1920, raiders struck the house of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Howard Foulkes and he was killed by shooting. His wife was tugged through some gap .

 And she after departed this life  in December 1920 from indignity. And his house, which was in Kohat Cantonment, was ravaged as well.
