Difference Between Electrical Wire and Cable:

Wire and Cable are two terms that I used in electrical and communication Fields.

There are often you confused but in fact they are quite different in this article i will go to share you difference between wire and cable.

Electrical Wire:

A wire is a single usually cylindrical, flexible strap or rod of metal.Wires are used to carry mechanical, loads or electrical and telecommunication signals. The wire is usually formed by drawing metal through a hole in a die or draw plate.

Wire gauges come in various standard sizes, as indicated by the gauge number:

The term wire is also used more loosely for such a bundle of wires, as in "multi-stranded wire", more accurately called wire rope mechanics or a cable in electricity.

Electrical Cable:

An electrical cable is made of two or more wires that run side by side and are twisted, twisted, or braided together to form a single assembly that may have ends connected to two devices, enabling the transfer of electrical signals from one device to the other. Cables are used for a wide range of purposes, and each must be tailored for what that purpose. Cables are widely used in electronic equipment for power and signal circuits.Long distance communication takes place over under sea cables. Power links are utilized for mass transmission of substituting and direct current power, particularly utilizing high voltage links.

Electrical cables are widely used in wiring for permanently installed lighting power and control circuits in buildings. Since all the circuit conductors required can be installed in a cable at one-time installation labor is saved compared to certain other wiring methods.
