What is rectifire:Types of rectifire:

 Rectifire:

A rectifier is an electrical device or component  which  convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). In easy way the process of change AC  current to Dc current  is called rectification. WE know that the rectifier take several physical forms, for example vacuum tube diodes,mercury-arc valves, silicon- control rectifier, solid state diode, the rectifier have two types

(1) half wave waves rectifier:

(2) full wave rectifier:

(A) half wave waves rectifier:

The half wave rectifier is the ist type of rectifier which are transform AC voltage to DC voltage . this types of rectire required only one diode for the transformation. by simple way to to understand that allow only one -cycle of an AC voltage waveform to pass and another step which are blocking the other half cycle.

Working of half wave rectifier:

In this section, modify North American country to know however a half-wave rectifier transforms AC into DC.A high AC voltage is applied to the first aspect of the device. As we know that The come by secondary low voltage is seek to the diode. The diode is forward biased throughout the positive zero.5 cycle of the AC voltage and reverse biased throughout the negative zero.5 cycle. The final output voltage wave is as shown at intervals the figure below:

For higher understanding, modify North American country to alter
the half-wave circuit by replacement the secondary device coils with a voltage provide as shown below:
For the positive zero.5 cycle of the AC provide voltage, the circuit effectively becomes as shown below at intervals the diagram:
Although the diode properties  is forward biased, it acts as a closed switch. But, throughout the negative zero.5 cycle of the AC provide voltage, the equivalent circuit becomes as shown at intervals the figure
below.

Half Wave Rectifier wave:
The half wave rectifier wave before and once rectification is shown below at intervals the figure.
Half Wave Rectifier device Filter:   The output wave of a half wave rectifier can be a rhythmica DC waveform. Filters in half wave rectifiers ar accustomed work on the rhythmical  wave
DC waveforms. a tool or Associate in Nursing device unit usually used as a filter.
The circuit diagram below shows however a natural phenomenon filter is employed with half wave rectifier to smoothen out a rhythmical DC wave into a unbroken DC waveform .
Efficiency of half wave rectifier:
In simple way is is ratio of output DC power to the input AC
Formula of half wave rectifier is given below
                             η: P (DC)/P(AC)

rms value of half wave rectifier:
The RMS value of load current is already given below
Irms=Im/2

Form factor of a Half Wave Rectifier:
As we know that the form factor is the ratio between RMS value
and average value .
Form Factor= RMS value/Average Value

Application of half wave rectifier:
(1) it is used for Radio signals/Detectors.
2 for the purpose of DC power supplies.
(3) It is used for High-voltage Direct Current Power Transmission
Systems.

Disadvantages of half wave rectifier:
(1)They have Ripple production is more.
(2) It is Harmonics are generated.
(3) By this it Utilization of the transformer is very low.
(4) The efficiency of rectification is low.
